VoiceThread

I enjoyed making the VoiceThread assignment because before we could complete it we had to watch two videos on Keith Richardson. Mr. Richardson opened my mind to ideas that had not been brought to my attention before. These ideas were actually intriguing to hear and relate to when completing our VoiceThread. He talked about two themes one was Creativity in school systems and the other was ADHD medication in our students. I loved relating them back into how we could listen to him and relate them back to us as future teachers and how to incorporate them into our teachings.

TPACK
The VoiceThread contains the theme of Creativity (CK) which can be seen when allowing my students to leave comments in 5 different ways on VoiceThread.(P) The technology used could be a great visual and discussion based assignment.(T)

Relation to NETS T
The VoiceThread primarily relates to Design #1 because it facilitates learning and creativity in which the students can learn use this technology.

Intregration
This tool can be used whenever I teach where it requires the class to be creative and to be able to use technology for learning any subject.

Benderconverter

I found a video on Youtube that dealt with sports injuries and with my profession I see them everyday of the week. It was very simple to download it and easy to convert into an MP3 file. As for the posting and embedding of the video and switching formats now that was new and a little frustrating to say the least.

Here is the link for the website.

TPACK
This would be a great way to show new students to the Athletic Training program that we deal with very serious injuries.(T) I could have them making a video of why they would want to be in the field of athletic training(P). The content would have to be on all aspects of Athletic Training(CK).

Relation to NETS T
This type of instructional technology would relate to engaging in professional growth and leadership #5 by being able to put together videos embedded with information on what Athletic Trainers do for a living and for them to just not think that we are just glorified water-boys.

Jing Screencast

When looking at how to do this assignment, I was extremely nervous but after a day or so of playing around with it I became more confident in using this gadget. For this assignment I chose to show people how to make the Jeopardy game that we did last week. I couldn't really use this gadget when teaching athletic training due to everything being very hands on in our profession. However teaching them to make a Jeopardy game could help them review before a test.

Here is the Video

TPACK
Teaching athletic training requires the integration new sources or ways to teach the class. The content theme of reviewing athletic training before a test (CK) can best taught when the students have to come up with the questions and answers to let other students review and study the information that they will be tested on. (P). My visual tool (T) can greatly make the class learn something new and review in a fun way.

Relation to Standards
When developing this video it relates to the ISTE NETS T standards, by focusing on #1 Facilitating Student Learning and Creativity. This video will allow them to follow the steps and be able to make a jeopardy review on their own for other classmates to take.

Jeopardy Game

I love this tool when going to teach or review before a quiz. I wish my teachers would have used this tool when I was in my undergraduate classes. This Jeopardy tool will make learning fun and encourage more participation from the students. I made my Jeopardy quiz on Athletic Training and for students at the sophomore level in which I would love to teach when I receive my Master's of Education. In order to take this Jeopardy quiz, you will have to have some Athletic Training background as well as First Aid and CPR.

Here is the link to the Jeopardy game.

Words Clouds

In this Post, we were to use Word Cloud of something in our field and post it into a blog post. However, in athletic training, there are really no speeches on athletic training unless it deals with a specific injury. So instead I went through and looked at famous speeches and found one that I can relate to how I feel about athletic training. I used Patrick Henry's "Give me Liberty or Give me Death" Speech. I feel that with the coaches that we deal with these days peace is something that we never get and it is always a war on certain injuries or athletes. Patrick Henry talked in that speech about the price of slavery and I feel like that we are enslaved at times to do what they want in order to keep are job. So in those ways I felt like this speech meant a great deal in regards to athletic training.
